Wide Open Spaces

Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law. Psalm 119:18

From the Coast to the Mountains

We had the privilege of visiting the coast and the mountains all in one weekend via our small business. From tastings on the coast at Uncle Don’s in SSI, Farm to Family in St. Mary’s and back to SSI at Golden Ilse Olive Oil (Check out their stories on our blog page) to the mountains for deliveries. My favorite things about both of these areas are the wide-open spaces and the wonderful people. The wide- open spaces are full of beauty and detail that only God could design! The people we meet are lights shining in the darkness! We are thankful to get to know folks that we call friends in each! We are enjoying where we are and look forward to where we will be. Thanks for being a part of the journey!!

Where in the World is Cindy’s Bits and Pieces?

From the first visit to Cashier’s Market, Cashiers, North Carolina, and every visit afterwards feels like a step back in time for me. From the open porch made with wide wooden plank boards to the artsy display, this ‘old general store look’ market does not disappoint locals nor tourist. The markets origin in 1995 was a roadside tent that Robin and Tom Crawford set up as they moved from Florida. The couple quickly saw their vision become a reality as demand grew. A permanent store was built and has been added onto in every direction including an On the Side Café as part of the building. In 2004, Miranda, Robin’s daughter took charge of the operation. Miranda has a gifted eye for curating just the right amount of all things loved by her customers. Today, she and her husband, Josh, tackle the demands of the thriving business. They are open from April through November. Their 5 golden retrievers are the iconic greeters to the welcoming setting in the North Carolina mountains. Miranda has been carrying our top 2 products, spicy cheese and pecan salty shortbread. We have been blessed to be a small part of their store since 2022. We look forward to the partnership. The Mountains are calling and you must go, and when you do, stop by Cashier’s Farmers Market!!
